A Family Tradition
Since 1944
With a legacy spanning nearly eight decades, Pemi Cabins has been a beloved home-away-from-home for countless families and their pets, offering a timeless White Mountain experience that's rooted in comfort, care, and tradition.
A Legacy of Hospitality: The Pemi Cabins Story
Early 1940’s
The Birth of a
Riverside Retreat
In the early 1940s, amidst the serene beauty of the White Mountains, Pemi Cabins was born. This modest riverside retreat began as a haven for travelers seeking the tranquility of nature and the comfort of a cozy cabin. The original owners, inspired by the picturesque Pemigewasset River and the surrounding landscapes, laid the foundation for what would become a cherished White Mountain tradition.
If anyone has more information on the original owners, please let us know!

A Legacy Continued
As the new millennium dawned, Pemi Cabins entered a new chapter under the stewardship of Rick and Kim Caston. With a deep appreciation for the property's rich history and a vision for its future, the Castons dedicated themselves to preserving the rustic charm while enhancing the guest experience. Their warm hospitality and commitment to creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere resonated with both long-time visitors and newcomers alike.

A New Beginning
After nearly twenty incredible years of ownership, Rick and Kim are officially off to enjoy their retirement!
From Kim's Facebook: "Thank you to all our friends, family and guests that helped us make the Pemi Cabins a place where a lifetime of memories were made. Thank you Amanda Cote for being an awesome realtor and making this dream come true. We have sold it to a group of wonderful people who are planning on continuing the Pemi's unique, peaceful and cozy cabin experience. We are officially retired and looking forward to the next chapter of our lives. Thank you for all the memories and hope to see you by the campfire.
Kim and Rick Caston
From our Facebook: "Hello everyone!
Andrew here, one of the four new owners of Pemi Cabins. To say we've got incredibly big shoes to fill would be a great understatement. After spending many hours talking to Rick and Kim, as well as combing through 780(!) reviews on TripAdvisor, it's obvious how much shared love there is for the Pemi Cabins that they've built over the years. Taking over and continuing on what they've created feels both humbling and exciting.
Change in ownership is always scary, especially for a place that many have fondly considered 'their little getaway' for 30, 40, and even 50+ years in some cases, so please know that is not something we take lightly or will navigate haphazardly. If you have any suggestions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Your new owners consist of two couples; Christophe and Lien, and Andrew and Caroline. While we're all coming from different backgrounds, we share a common passion for the outdoors and hospitality. More info to come on us in the coming weeks - but know that we are excited to meet all of you!
Lastly, a big thank you goes out to Rick and Kim for all their hard work over the years and setting us up for a smooth transition into a busy October!
Sincerely,
Andrew, Caroline, Christophe, and Lien
P.S. You'll likely see our Standard Poodle, Remi, running around the property. Come say hello!"
Present Day
Building on Tradition
Today, we're working hard to improve Pemi Cabins while keeping its rustic charm. We've completely renovated units 16 and 17, giving them a fresh, updated look. We've also added two new units, 18 and 19, to the main house, offering more options for our guests.
Our plans go beyond just the cabins. We're upgrading our outdoor areas to make your stay even better. New firepits will give you a place to relax in the evenings. We're building an outdoor kitchen with a large pizza oven, perfect for family meals. For fun, we're adding a shuffleboard court and other games that everyone can enjoy.
As we make these changes, we're keeping in mind what makes Pemi Cabins special. We want to keep the peaceful, natural feel while adding new features for our guests. We're excited to have you here as we continue to make Pemi Cabins an even better place for your White Mountain vacation.
